Square Deal Productions Atlantic Inc. is a Canadian storytelling company, based in Atlantic Canada (PEI) offering highly original, creative, and visual productions. We specialize in co-productions and interested in partnering on Canadian and international productions. We primarily produce and develop feature documentaries, reality and factual programming, commercial TV spots, corporate/government and music videos.

John Hopkins work  has appeared on: CBC's Documentary Channel, CTV, Superchannel, Bravo, WDR, RT, Arte, Discovery, NFB, and others worldwide. Online platforms featuring our work include: Hulu, iTunes, Vimeo, Microsoft, Starz, Amazon Prime, Youtube, Playstation, and Tubi TV. Our productions have been Official Selections at over 30 Canadian and International Film Festivals including Santa Barbara, San Francisco, San Diego, New York Wildlife, LA Downtown, Raindance, Lunenburg DocFest, Bluewater and Blue Sky Film Festivals.

We have been honoured for our work at the Explorer's Club in both Toronto and New York, and selected for special presentations at the World Climate Change Conference, San Francisco, Busan South Korea, Hot DOC's Films that Change the World series, the Vancouver Aquarium, Cinema Politica, World Environment Day, and World Oceans Week both in Halifax and NYC. Our films are currently being distributed by the NFB, Gravitas Ventures and the Canadian Filmmakers Distrubution Centre.

In strengthening the confidence of investors in the management of his projects and that the film will be delivered properly on time and on budget, John Hopkins has developed strong relationships with experienced production team of connected and proven writers, producers, production managers, as well as out-sourced production accounting and legal experts.

SDPA is expanding its international co-producing contacts and sales opportunities in the Netherlands, Germany, US, France, Canada, and the UK. Traveling extensively to global festivals and markets, John Hopkins has met with numerous prospective business partners who can assist with the financing productions on both sides of the Atlantic. Hopkins has evolved relationships with an extensive list of producers, broadcasters, film development agencies, festivals, distributors, and press contacts.

Our key motivation is to produce creative, high quality, cost-effective films that will provide a positive return for our partners and investors by pursuing marketable projects aimed at capturing a large share of the imagination and attention of Canadian and international audiences.
